Pickleball is growing fast in the Philippines, and so is the workload of running a tournament. This September 26–27, 2026, Avelino Resort hosts the Avelino Pickleball Tournament, and Magstack is proud to be one of its organizers.
What Magstack Brought to the Tournament
Magstack is a court-side stacking, queue management, and court reservation platform built for pickleball facilities. Avelino Resort was our first partner and the proving ground for the system. For this tournament, we took that same technology and applied it to the busiest weekend the courts will see.
What We Did
Set up digital court queues so players and teams know exactly when they're up, with no paper sign-up sheets and no shouting names across the courts.
Automated court assignments and rotations so matches keep moving without a marshal managing a whiteboard.
Gave players real-time visibility on their phones: current court status, who's next, and estimated waiting time.
Put court reservations and schedules in one place, reducing double-bookings and confusion between tournament play and regular open play.
Gave organizers a single live view of every court, so problems are spotted and fixed early.
The Pros: Why Automation Works for Tournaments
Faster turnaround between matches. Automated queues cut idle court time, so more matches are played in the same hours.
Fewer disputes. A transparent, first-come system removes arguments about who's next and keeps play fair.
Less staff strain. Organizers spend their time on the event itself, not on manual tracking and call-outs.
Fewer human errors. Missed names, wrong court calls, and scheduling overlaps are much less likely when the system handles them.
A better player experience. Players can rest, warm up, or grab a drink instead of hovering near the sign-up board, and they still know when to show up.
Live, accurate scheduling. If matches run long or courts change, the queue adjusts immediately instead of waiting on someone to rewrite the schedule.
Scalability. The same setup handles 20 players or 200, so organizers can grow the tournament without scaling the headaches.
Data for next time. Court utilization, wait times, and match flow give organizers real numbers for planning future events.
The Bigger Picture
A tournament is only as good as its flow. Players remember the games, but they also remember whether the day ran smoothly. Automation takes care of the logistics so the sport can take center stage.
Magstack was built on this idea, and the Avelino Pickleball Tournament is a real test of it. We're proud to work alongside Avelino Resort to deliver a smoother, smarter tournament experience.
